About Us
Montclaire Elementary School offers transitional kindergarten through fifth grade classes. Our school has been named a State Distinguished School based on outstanding school-wide programs for several years. Montclaire is known for its community involvement and its quality of education.
Montclaire, located in Los Altos, California, is one of 25 schools in the Cupertino Union School District. We serve a population of approximately 400 students in transitional kindergarten through fifth grade. Our roots go deep in Los Altos; Montclaire School has been a neighborhood school for fifty years. Montclaire, like our district at large, celebrates diversity as its strength and is committed to developing an inclusive, caring educational community in which each individual has an equal opportunity to achieve his or her potential.
Montclaire is very fortunate to be supported by our Montclaire Parent Teacher Organization (MPTO). MPTO is a non-profit organization that engages the community to contribute to quality education at Montclaire.
Each year a school plan (SPSA) is established by School Site Council (SSC) which sets priorities for the school and reviews how school funds can support agreed upon goals. SSC is an elected body made up of parents, teachers, staff and the principal. You may access the 2023-24 School Plan for Student Achievement here.
Parent support of Montclaire is also seen in the many ways they volunteer. The school and the community view themselves as a "family" and a "team", and demonstrate mutual respect, caring, and communication.
